Among other things, the most significant part of this bill weakens election reform laws to allow for exceptions to the voter ID requirement. Voters are allowed to cite a ‘reasonable impediment’ to obtaining a photo ID and thus be allowed to vote without showing identification at the polls. Such voters will be required to vote a provisional ballot.
