HB 342 (2R) - High School Accreditation

This bill prohibits public higher education institutions from using the accreditation status, or lack thereof, of a NC secondary school as a factor in determining student admissions, loans, scholarships, or other educational activity. Civitas believes the conservative position is to focus on the quality of the student applying by assessing factors such as grades, difficulty of courses, extracurricular activities and other relevant factors and to limit the influence of outside accreditation agencies on important higher education admissions determinations.
