SB 37 - In-Person Learning Choice for Families

Senate Bill 37 expands freedom for North Carolina families by requiring that government-run schools offer an option for students to receive in person instruction. While virtual learning may be an adequate option for some students, most need in-person instruction to effectively learn. Low-income students may be especially vulnerable to learning loss if their families don’t have the resources or time to supplement virtual learning at home. This bill fills that gap by requiring local school districts to provide an in-person learning option for students following the guidelines set out by the governor for safe school reopening. The vote to expand freedom is a vote YES on Senate Bill 37.
