Senate Bill 505, Rural Job Retention Act, would expand eligibility for the Jobs Maintenance and Capital Development Fund (JMAC) and grant an additional $15 million of taxpayer money over ten years to the program. This bill is a clear example of corporate cronyism and highlights the problems with corporate welfare programs more broadly. Civitas Action believes government should not pick winners and losers in the free market. Across the board tax cuts are the only fair way to provide support to our job-creating businesses. The vote to defend freedom is no.
