House Bill 1092, Require Photo ID to Vote, would amend the state constitution by adding a provision requiring “every person offering to vote in person” to present valid photo identification. The amendment would first need voter approval in the general election the November.
North Carolinians overwhelmingly support this common-sense measure, with close to 70 percent approval in Civitas Institute polling for years – including 69 percent approval in their February 2018 poll.
